Baking:
Due to its high oil content, flaxseed can be used in many bakery products as an oil replacement or substitute. Since flaxseed is very rich in omega-3 fatty acids, only 1.3g per serving of Pizzey's flaxseed products can supply the full recommended daily value of ALA suggested by the FDA.
Flaxseed can replace oil content in most breads by a 3:1 ratio. For example, if your recipe calls for 1 tbsp of oil or shortening, you can replace that by adding 3 tbsp of flaxseed. Pizzey's whole flaxseed may also be used by grinding it in a regular kitchen blender or coffee grinder.
Beverages
Smooth-textured, pleasant tasting flaxseed, milled into a fine flour from the highest quality seeds using Pizzey's proprietary MeadowPure Quality process. Easy to use, a tablespoon or two per day will provide all the nutritional goodness of whole-grain flaxseed that you need. Mix our SmoothOmega into any one of the recipes found here.
Cereals
Flax can be easily incorporated into Hot and Ready-to-Eat Cereals. For hot cereals, omega-3 and fiber-rich flaxseed offers the perfect compliment to ß-glucan-rich oatmeal. It takes only 1.3-g of Pizzey's "Ultra-Fine" SelectGrad per reference serving to transform a hot cereal into a "rich, excellent or high" source of ALA Omega-3, according to FDA nutrient content claims guidelines for omega-3.
Pizzey's flaxseed can be added to any ready-to-eat or hot cereal as an excellent way to incorporate omega-3, dietary fiber, and phytochemicals to your breakfast cereal.
Restricted Carb Diets
At only 4g of carbohydrates per serving, flaxseed is an excellent low-carb ingredient. Pizzey's SmoothOmega product offers 100% of the nutritional value of flaxseed in a form that is stable, easy to store, and easy to use.
